Lovely pub with excellent food, highly recommend the Sunday lunch. The first time I have visited where theres been a table available without having to wait so would recommend booking. Great that its dog friendly as plenty of opportunity for a lovely walk along the canal
The Barge Inn is set in a lovely location & if you live in Melksham is easy to walk to along the canal. There is nothing nicer than watching the narrow boats pass by whilst enjoying a drink. The staff are helpful & friendly and it has a lovely feel. It is a dog friendly place and they will provide water & treats for your pooch. The reason for the 3 stars is in relation to the food which can at times be hit and miss, but don't let this put you off as it's a lovely place especially on a sunny day!
Christmas meal ok. Fish poor value. Asked for extra vegetables as very few on plate. Got extra vegetables after "discussion " with staff especially as we were table of ten. Great staff, warm atmosphere and cheerful surroundings.
Amazing! Great Sunday roasts, but food any day of the week is excellent & its truly beautiful there. Dog friendly! And a nice walk along the canal from there too.
A really nice pub. It has outside seating if the weather is nice. We had sandwiches with chips. Which were very good. However the chip portion is small for the extra cost so you may want to get a side if chips instead.
